The craftsman’s pursuit is to create something that does justice to the material from which it came.  Wood is an incredible, renewable material when managed properly, so it is Redbud’s aim to create beautiful designs that last at least as long as the tree stood in the forest. Accomplishing this means knowing the characteristics of wood inside and out, how it moves over the seasons, which cuts of the log are more stable or more beautiful, and studying the methods of woodworkers over the years. All of this to ensure durability and longevity.

 

    Redbud was founded in 2012 with the guiding mission of bringing this quality craftsmanship to whatever we set our hands to. This has included major home remodels, cabinetry, built-ins, millwork, and one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture. Whether preserving an old home or harvesting a 70-year-old tree, something old is made new, and something rough is refined. These things that would otherwise be at the end of their lives take on another life with a new function and form. We feel honored to facilitate this process.
